Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Laundry Manager
Job Location:

CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS

 

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

 

  • Bachelor degree or in related field, is preferable
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Laundry in a 4 or 5 stars hotel
  • Proven Supervisory abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Good organizational and administrative skills
  • Must have full knowledge of hotel’s procedures.
  • Strong organization and follow-through skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Good computer knowledge such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

 

 

KEY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  •    Provides productive operation resulting in professionally cleaned pressed linen by supervising, training and directing the laundry operation;
  • Directs the processing of guest laundry and decides if garment can be washed in-house or needs to be sent out for dry clean service;
  • Assist in the productive and output of linen being processed through the laundry department during peak times or during absence of laundry operators.
  • Schedules Team Members based upon forecasted occupancy, anticipates time changes in occupancy and revise strategies to coincide with variances;
  • Maintain linen in accordance with the hotel standards by monitoring condition of linens and repairing and/ or replacing linens as necessary;
  • Schedules any special job not done on a daily basis;
  • Attend to any special requests concerning guests laundry or dry cleaning when applicable;
  • Provides written and verbal reports required to keep the Room Division and the Executive Housekeeper informed on the status of the laundry operation and report based on unusual or extraordinary problems;
  • Ensures washer are being supplied with chemicals and there is proper stock of supplies in the laundry Writes maintain orders as needed. Report to maintenance any defects in the equipment and may make recommendations based upon experience. Liaise with maintenance for servicing of equipment or other actions that must be taken;
  • Assures that preventive maintenance is carried out as stipulate;
  • Check linens that used in rotation;

Charming, large hotel

Stayed here for a work conference. The facilities were excellent, the hotel was large enough to accommodate all participants, with enough space for smaller break out groups. Breakfast and lunch service was wonderful, excellent variety of food.... See More

A successful regional meeting

I organised an Asia wife regional meeting here. Around 45 delegates. Great support from the rooms, sales, banquet, front office team from like 3 months before the meeting. All delegates praised the hospitality and service provided.
