In Siem Reap you have a big choice of hotels in each category, obviously the result of the tourism boom, but if you are looking for a relaxing nice place then this is the one to go. I really liked their lobby, it is so nicely decorated and even though there are guests arriving and leaving all the time, somehow it felt very calm and relaxing. A big advantage of the hotel is that they are issuing entrance tickets to the temples (the only hotel in the town) and if you are not staying here, then you need to queue quite long in the morning at the ticket office of the city. Our Deluxe room was nicely decorated in local style, did not like the view but it doesn’t really matter as you are out the whole day anyway. Breakfast was
good, but very busy as all the tourists are leaving the same time. They were reacting on the big demand promptly and opened the adjacent restaurant for additional tables, very clever move and talk about service oriented staff. The pool looks amazing, kind of Indiana Jones style, but we’ve found it too cold to swim in mid January, not sure if it’s heated. Loved the coffee shop, nice to sit on its terrace in the morning if you have time. They even offered Vienna coffee on the menu, which is very precious for me (reminds me about home) and it is rarely you can get this in other countries. The hotel is close enough to walk to the night market or to restaurants. Tried the spa, looks a bit worn out but the massage was excellent after a busy day and relatively cheap. Highly recommend this place to stay in, you will not regret it.
This was our second time staying here, having stayed here 18 months ago. It was just as good as the first time. We had two connecting deluxe pool view rooms. Rooms were big, largest bed I have ever slept in! Staff were extremely courteous, pleasant and friendly. I could not fault the place. We had lunch in the hotel on the day we arrived which was delicious. Buffet breakfast was good, too. Short tuk tuk ride into town, We even walked it a couple of times - about 15 minutes. Siem Reap is just a fabulous place. Our two teenage boys want to come back again. Restaurants are great and the shopping is great. Go to the Khmer House Restaurant for a Khmer curry.
The first time we stayed here was in the low season
(September), so we noticed a big difference this time in the number of tourists at the temples. If you can go in the low season it is much better to get around the temples and really soak up the atmosphere. We found it was very crowded at the main temples (Angkor Watt, Bayon). Beautiful hotel, beautiful place and beautiful people. Hopefully we will return again one day.
We have used the same tuk tuk driver both times and he is just a wonderful & kind man. If anyone is interested in contacting him, then please send me a message and I can give you his details.
This hotel was nothing short of impressive. Our room was a great size with an enormous bed and overlooked the amazing pool area. We received 2 vouchers for 15 minute massages (foot massages)- I liked that you could also purchase 15 minute massages for $5 US - I don't generally have time for full hour massages on holiday as I am pretty busy checking out the sites - having said that; a hotel is generally just a place for me to store my bags and put my head down for a while, between adventures - this hotel however, was quite impressive and I actually wanted to schedule some hotel time into my activities. I would book to stay at this hotel again, should I return to Siem Reap.
