Hotel Reviews
“Gran hotel”
Probably one of the three best hotels in the city. Great location, but not much to do in town, except for "Pub Street". Excellent buffet, spacious, clean and very nice rooms. The service is excellent and the people are really friendly. At the reception there is always a friendly Cambodian, dressed in a traditional costume, to wish you a happy day or a happy break.
“Really good hotel for location, amenities and food”
This is an expensive hotel compared to lower grade hotels in siem reap but is value for money when you consider that others in same price range are often just a nicer facade but rooms and food quality not as good and are often further out on the road to airport. For me the hotel has the following things going for it. Location: at top end of the street which goes down to pub st. It is possible to walk and look at the shops if you don't want a tub yuk. Food breakfast was included in our package and it was excellent buffet. Asan food, western food, cold cuts fruit etc including kimchi as many Koreans visit siem reap. The coffee shop does good hamburgers and chips. If you want a snack share one. Likewise the fish and chips can
also be shared as you get five small fish bits like Findus or aust birds eye fish pieces. The swimming pool is excellent. At least 15 metres long and good width maybe a bit more where you can do laps without running into other people. Pool water was good quality as well. However the hotel could do with a few more pool chairs and more umbrellas. Staff are good apart from one obsequious reception man who pushed the woman serving us out of the way to assist. I really dislike these types who then take you up to your room and waste time and annoy mr by showing me the fridge television bathroom etc. I have stayed in hotels before and know what a fridge is etc......and then stand there expecting a tip! What was worse we had only changed a small amount into riel and he then told us that our tip was not enough because the exchange rate was 4000 riel to dollar. I was livid.
Apart from that during the day, traditional music is played in the coffee shop, which is pleasant.
Our room was very spacious. The bed was ultra big, and comfortable, mattress was a tad hard but the is common from my travels elsewhere. Not so hard you can't sleep but pillows very comfortable.
Bathroom had a bath as well as shower and pull out drying line for washing. Good range of tv channels due to international visitors allows you to keep up to date. International and local papers in coffee shop. Souvenir shop had good stock although I did not buy anything.
We received a free 15 minute foot and leg massage which was welcome and good. I realty enjoyed our stay here and will come back again for short vacation to further explore Angkor temples.
“Value for money for an Exec Room”
Central location with markets within 10mins walking distance. Spa sessions professional & reasonably priced. Enjoyed Takezono best which offered delicious bento sets & good selection of ala carte choices. I liked the sashimi best as it was very fresh & not expensive. Will return again when I visit Siem Reap again.
“Beautiful, friendly, great location”
We were very impressed by the beauty of this hotel, as well as the warm reception, courtesy and friendliness of the staff. The dinner buffet at the lotus room was exceptional and the breakfast buffet was excellent as well. The room had a very high ceiling, nice floor to ceiling sliding doors to the balcony and a great bathroom with a very good shower. The television had the platinum true vision channels many of which are English-speaking. The salt water pool is large and warm. All this and a free foot massage. We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice.
