“Potentially a very good hotel let down by poor housekeeping

Lovely hotel, great rooms, huge bed, nice garden, good location.... Poor housekeeping. Parquet flooring which could look spectacular, but instead it looks as it could do with a good polish. Bathroom is good size and again it could look great but for lack of cleaning. The bath tub is stained, wall tiles need a good scrub. To make it quite clear...it is not terrible it just is not good enough. If one looks at the corridors, you can see where the housekeepers stopped their trolleys, in front of virtually every door there us a stain, probably caused by housekeepers dumping a half empty can of coke into a plastic bag that subsequently leaked. Terrible shame. The staff perhaps need some intensive training and most definitely
motivation. Having said that everyone is pleasant and very friendly and really made welcome. So to sum up good but could be much better.
Few Hotels encompass every aspect of thoughtful and helpful service but it was with us here at every juncture while in Siam Reap. Managed by an internationally experienced Australian with cheerful, attentive staff, Sokha Angkor was a pleasure to be a Guest at. After being picked up at Siam Reap Airport by a Hotel Car and Driver with refreshing cool face cloths and bottled water, we were at the Hotel and checked in very quickly at its convenient and relaxing location. A wide and varied selection at the buffet Breakfast with outstanding service by the Food and Beverage staff made a great start to each day. The Front desk organised tours which were delivered professionally and
courteously. Swimming Pool, Gym, Sauna, Steam Room, Spa are well maintained and kept very clean. Excellent Massage service provided by a dedicated team. The rooms are well appointed with super comfortable beds and there is a Pillow Menu for special sleep requests. We understand this Cambodian only Hotel Group is about one year away from opening a new property in Phnom Penh. When it does we will certainly being looking for it.
Room Tip: Rooms either face the pool area or to the outside.
I stayed at this hotel for 4 days and we loved our stay, everything was good, the staff were polite and friendly, the hotel lobby was luxury and immaculate with spectacular statues and the room was quite spacious I stayed at a deluxe room and everything was inside, the pool was amazing and the sauna and jacuzzi facilities was provided as well, the hotel has a big gym that I didn't use it but it had different equipments, the garden was stunning and I love the hotel at night because if the light, the le choute restaurant was not bad if u do not want to have ur meal outside, the breakfast choices was good however the meal doesn't have taste! the hotel do not provide any free shuttle service and also the internet connection is so
slow, totally it is a good hotel that need to improve some service if it want to be excellent
Everything. Good clean room, early check in. Courteous staff and very friendly and helpful. Pool area lovely even though the pool water was cold. Lovely lit up at night. Breakfast the best we had in Cambodia. Excellent value for money and near enough to pub street but far enough away to not hear the music which goes on till 3am! Hence the reason we moved to the sokhar for some peace and quiet.
