You will not have anything to worry about when you stay at the Sokha Angkor Resort. Everyone is incredibly friendly and very helpful. The restaurants are wonderful, the location is fabulous, and the service is superb. Tuk tuks are readily available at the hotel to take you anywhere for a very inexpensive cost. The night market area is $2 via tuk tuk and 5 minutes away. There are bikes to rent for $5 per day if you choose. I did not use the pool, but it is gorgeous! The only complaint I have is it could be a bit noisy near the elevator with tour groups gathering. I stayed in 453 C/D elevator- avoid this room!! There was also some noise banging noises from someplace that was disturbing at times. I did manage to sleep well once
the noises settled, though. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.
Room Tip: I recommend requesting away from the elevator. I was next to it and a tour group got up at 6:30 dai...
From the hotel there is a 10 minute walk in the Pub Street - a ride in a tuk tuk takes course even shorter. For $ 2 you are missing so the heat and the fully parked pavements. Do not be shy in front of the tuk tuks. The drivers are very nice, fix price in advance and there you go. The rooms at the hotel are spacious, come the means for a bit part in the year. Overall the hotel is quite noisy. The breakfast is very good, although with an emphasis on Asian and cooked offer. Beautiful pool area and good fitness facilities. Friendly, courteous staff.

“Best pool!”

The saltwater pool is the perfect temperature, set in lovely gardens, and there is even some shade in the late afternoon (perfect for the fair-skinned who have been out in the sun at the temples all morning). The hotel is worth staying at just for the pool and clean rooms! The housekeeping staff deserve special mention, the rooms are serviced twice a day and are spotlessly clean. The drainage can sometimes smell a little, but minor. The downside is that you can hear guests in other rooms scraping wooden chairs/tables/suitcases across the wooden floors at all hours of the day and night. There are late flights to Siam Reap so people were coming and going at 1am, plus people getting up at 4.30am to see sunrise at Angkor
Wat. Pack earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Breakfast can be very crowded at peak tour group times but the local fruit is delicious and they can make you an espresso so you don't have to drink filter muck! Two hotel tuk-tuk divers are lovely and deserve special mention, book Mr Kear or Mr Sal to take you around, they speak enough English to make things easy, charge fair prices and are lovely blokes.
Wonderful hotel and very friendly staff. Fantastic pool. Centrally located near the downtown area. Would've been perfect if our room wasn't directly over the new night club...music was very loud in our hotel room.
Room Tip: Make sure you are not on the second floor above the night club.
