Hotel Reviews
“Good but too quiet”
Strange to say that a hotel is too quiet but as a solo traveller, I found it a rather lonely experience staying at the Sokha resort. The service was great, the prices were very reasonable for such a high-quality establishment and the facilities were excellent (well, those that were open, which unfortunately didn't include their in-house pub): but most of the time there was no-one around.
I quickly tired of finding myself alone in the bar (which had so few patrons it was empty by 10pm and closed by eleven) and in the restaurants (I like Japanese food but not having a whole restaurant to myself). The pool was great and the room was large, immaculate and very nice. The only busy time was at breakfast (which was
excellent) before everyone headed off to the temples.
Location is pretty good, especially given the ease of getting a tuk-tuk down to the the crowded central area. But it you want any kind of social action, stay downtown. It's not their fault that it was the low season but it would have been great if the management had shown more initiative by holding some events, like music or dance, to draw more people in.
“Great Hotel”
We have returned from Cambodia staying at the sokha Angkor Resort for the last 4 nights. Found all the amenities great, rooms very clean, staff always smiling and helpful. Pool area was great as we found it very hot and a dip in the pool was very refreshing. Close to everything and tuk tuks very clean and cheap if you choose not to walk in the heat. Breakfast was a wonderful array of food. Would definetly stay again if we ever return to this part of the world.
Room Tip:
“The room we had was ok although I would have preferred it to be one with a small balcony and with a bit more of a view overlooking the pool”
“Sokha Angkor Resort”
My recent stay in Sokha Angkor Resort was present and comfortable. Hospitality of the staff
is amazing and they really make your feel like home. Room are spacious and every nights there is a turn down pillow gifts.
Location by walking distance to Lucky Mall and Pub Street.
You can also hired Tootoo to Pub Street it cost you only US2 per way.
Their Managers are very generous and helpful. You are greeted every moment you step into the hotel lobby with welcome smile. Room rates quite reasonable not to expensive.
Room Tip:
“Room fourth floor balcony overseeing the swimming pool. Suites are large with sauna bath tab. Room should install emergency light incase
of electric power failure.”
“Well located comfortable resort hotel”
A good hotel for a break to see Angkor Wat and surrounding temples. Hotel is close to the main action in town down at bar street, which is an easy 5 minute walk away. Hotel is comfortable, with good pool area, good cafe, and a tasty breakfast buffet as befits a hotel of this size and status. No complaints at all, and for the price paid was good value. Recommended.
“Top Hotel in excellent location”
A real 5 star hotel - rooms were large with an top bathroom (separate large bath and wet room shower). Plenty of good quality toiletries and water replenished twice a day if required. The pool area was fantastic and the food was very reasonably priced. Excellent location to visit Angkor Wat and surrounding temples. Staff were extremely friendly and this was great value for money.
Room Tip: “Choose room overlooking pool”
