The saltwater pool is the perfect temperature, set in lovely gardens, and there is even some shade in the late afternoon (perfect for the fair-skinned who have been out in the sun at the temples all morning). The hotel is worth staying at just for the pool and clean rooms!
The housekeeping staff deserve special mention, the rooms are serviced twice a day and are spotlessly clean. The drainage can sometimes smell a little, but minor.
The downside is that you can hear guests in other rooms scraping wooden chairs/tables/suitcases across the wooden floors at all hours of the day and night. There are late flights to Siam Reap so people were coming and going at 1am, plus people getting up at 4.30am to see sunrise at Angkor

Wonderful hotel and very friendly staff. Fantastic pool. Centrally located near the downtown area. Would've been perfect if our room wasn't directly over the new night club...music was very loud in our hotel room.

Room Tip: Make sure you are not on the second floor above the night club.

I chose the Sokha Angkor resort as it seemed to be an ideal location for visiting Ankor Wat as well as the market area. In terms of location it is excellent. The staff is helpful and polite. The swimming pool is very good. There is a new nightclub that has just opened and may pick up soon. The acrobat show is walking distance from the hotel. Even the pub street and old town can be reached on foot if one does not mind walking for 10-12 minutes. However the rooms need some 'taking care of.' My room had a lizard on the floor, and the AC was not effective, so could not sleep properly at night. Food is good. Better maintenance will make it an excellent place overall as
