DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Personnel
- Develop and implement an organization chart for the Sales and Marketing Department by determining the positions and the reporting relationships of these positions that would best achieve the goals set for the Department.
- Identify job descriptions and standards of performance for all Sales Department personnel.
- Hire, train and manage all Sales and Marketing staff and conduct performance evaluations and salary reviews as necessary and as provided for in the Marketing Budget.
- Implement action plans related to specific market areas as outlined in the marketing plan.
- Attend key travel functions (travel shows and promotional events) as may be directed by the General Manager/ Group Director of Sales & Marketing from Corporate Office.
- Plan sales calls and trips to key markets with sales personnel and report to the General Manager & Group Director of Sales & Marketing on sales opportunities and recommended follow-up activities.
- Provide feedback to the General Manager / Group Director of Sales & Marketing on changing market conditions and trends, and competitors' current or future actions that affect the property's revenue targets.
- Manage and constantly evaluate sales accounts according to the frequency of sales calls made and amount of business generated.
- Support familiarization and/or site inspection trips to the property.
- Respond to inquiries within 48 hours of receipt of the inquiry.
- Monitor and supervise to ensure that sales calls, telephone solicitations, direct mail programs and other sales & marketing campaigns are conducted on schedule.
II. Financial
- Prepare, administer, and implement the Annual Marketing Department Budget in conjunction with the General Manager & Group Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Develop sales tools that are necessary to implement the Marketing Budget.
III. Coordination
- Work with the General Manager and other Department Heads to coordinate functions that generate business with maximum profit potential.
- Obtain information on costs versus profit margins to be used in negotiating Food & Beverage menus with meeting and incentive planners and organizers.
- Maintains a close, cooperative relationship with all Department Heads, but particularly with the Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, etc.
IV. Controls
- Ensure maximum effective use of all resources available for promotion and sales.
- Develop cost-effective measures and processes within the department.
V. General
- Ensure that employees are fully aware of the hotel's Safety Plan, Fire Plan and Emergency Situation Plans.
- Should be thoroughly aware with the hotel's Health, Safety and Security Policies.
