Hotel Reviews
Very well
Although a bit far from the city center, this hotel is ideal (albeit, 5 euros tuk tuk for the Royal Palace). Quietly, we were able to enjoy both quiet evenings on the roof terrace and the pool after a day of sightseeing, with only two or three people each time. The rooms are spacious, clean, very well equipped. The bathroom is beautiful, too bad we could not enjoy the beautiful bath since impossible to close, the bung not working. The view of the Mekong is fantastic.
Surprisingly Good Stay
If I'd stay there abt 2 days my rating would be 2 stars only due to following reasons:
- hotel looks like built in the late 90ties ( I was quite shocked to learn it was opened in the year of 2016 only )
- rooms are spacious but ascetically furnished and design is quite outdated
- staff is struggling with English ( including reception and conscierge )
- old school paper coupons for breakfast
- you access swimming pool thru restaurant ( no other access available )
- filthy smell in corridors
- located on the middle of nowhere
Anyway my rate is finally 4 stars because staying there longer I could discover little treasures of this hotel:
- hotel is
spacious but not very busy - you do not experience the crowded atmosphere, it's quite and laid back sort of feeling
- located far from city noise, relaxingingly quiet
- we could easily reach the city with tuk tuk which was a great fun for us
- staff is very polite and always ready to help
- I loved swimming pool - LOVED it. its huge - I guess the biggest single hotel pool I've ever seen, never crowded, relaxing - absolutely perfect
- 19th floor restaurant ( Italian and Japanese ) great food, fantastic view over Phnom Penh
- fantastic selection of complimentary movies and newest releases just for 2$
- very efficient rooms service, the moment you press clean my room - they are ready.
All in all very positive experience, recommend to families and all people who want to escape from city noise.
I took lots of rest, ate well and enjoyed Phnom Penh a lot.
On The Waterfront
Sokha Hotel Phnom Penh is situated on the other side of Phnom Penh bustling city. It’s a world apart. With the constant traffic jams, foot traffic, and noise level; sometimes you need a rewind across the river. It’s enormous and has its own pool and gym. There’s a big different being on each side of the River. Sokha Hotel is on the quiet less populated side. Crossing the Japanese bridge is somewhat scary and a hassle. At times it gets congested. Back to the hotel. It’s a high quality hotel no doubt. Lobby is big and rooms are what you expect. Best of all is the noise level or lack of from the other side of the river.
Hotel with perfect view, great food and helpful staff
Was on a business trip to Cambodia and it’s my first visit to the country and I was pleasantly surprised with the furnishing in my room and of course the breathtaking view overseeing the river n palace. I was chauffeured from the airport to the hotel in a Mercedes n was given cold water n towel. The staff in the hotel speaks good English n so communication was really easy. Great spread of breakfast. Will be back again and this time with my kids.
Nice stay!
This is a beautiful place, very comfortable, and well-located. Our room was large and very convenient. The bed mattress was too soft though. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was perfect!
