The hotel is slightly out from the centre of Phnom Penh but I found this to be the perfect place to escape the crowded tourist sites. Traffic in the city is chaotic, but there is a ferry across the river just outside the hotel which takes you to the Royal Palace.
I stayed in a deluxe room on the 15th floor and was surprised to find the room was incredibly spacious. The room was tranquil, with a short hallway separating me from the hotel corridor and air-con. The king-sized bed was extremely comfortable, with huge fluffy pillows. I had more storage space than I knew what to do with, but it was a nice touch.
The bath was my favourite part of the hotel room because it was a huge, free-standing bathtub. I
also liked the fact that I had a separate rainfall shower.
The view from the room was amazing, I wasn't expecting a panoramic view across the city. The rooftop bar is host to an incredible 360-degree view across the city, the best time to go is as the sun sets. Unfortunately, it appeared as though some of the restaurants in the hotel were closed during my stay. However, breakfast in the restaurant on the ground floor had a great selection of Asian and Western dishes.
This is one of the most accessible hotels I have visited in Asia. The room had a flat wood floor with a lot of space around the bed and chairs, making it very accessible for everyone including those with walking aids. The bathroom had a shower separate from the bath, which had no steps when entering. The hotel lifts came with wheelchair-accessible buttons and enough space to fit in a wheelchair with at least 3 other people.
I would recommend the Sokha hotel chain for anyone travelling to Cambodia and would not hesitate to stay at their hotel in Phnom Penh again. Unfortunately, there aren't enough characters on TripAdvisor to review this hotel fully. If you would like to know more about the hotel and Cambodia, please feel free to visit my blog.
