Popokvil means “swirling clouds” which is totally appropriate as most of the time the mists do whorl just above the waterfalls. The best time to visit is during the rainy season (May to October) when the waterfalls are at their most beautiful.

You might be interested in its beautiful name and then you will be more surprised to see the real view of “Veal Sre Mouy Roy” or “100 Rice Fields”. That is the rock fields which look like hundreds of paddy fields divided by hundreds of dikes. It is one of the ideal place to keep your fun posts in your camera.
500 Rice Fields is 17 kilometres from the Thansur Sokha Hotel and takes about 30 minutes by car to reach the site. The place had been hidden in the jungle for years and just open for public visit with the new constructed road.
Compare to 100 Rice Fields, the new explored 500 Rice Fields is filled more with wonders and untouched dense forest. You can spot many unique rocks, animal and furniture liked rocks scattered all over the area and Bokor icon, sroy tree, along the way to 500 Rice Fields. It is home of Nepenthes and many kinds of wild orchids, ferns, and hundred species of butterflies.
Walking through the little pathway deep into the jungle, the unparalleled mountain views will capture your sight and dig up your passion of peaceful exploration. You are invading the God's Place! The cloud is within your reach, the ground you are standing on is sparkling... you are here in the park of paradise where only God and Goddess can seek for a time of relaxation and amusement.
If you like most of travelers who want to avoid the torrents of monsoon season (June to mid September) you can go on the late September through May. From October to March the weather is cool and clear. Guide will be always ready to assist you to feel comfortable.
This is another fascinating destination among the many others on Bokor Mountain. The two huge stones symbolize a gate between Heaven and Earth, and this symbol originated since the early days. This location is also a sacred place to perform prayers.
When you travel up to the Bokor Mountain, take a short stop at Kilometre No. 10 to capture the amazing view of a large face in rock. Regarded as the Guardian of the Forest, this huge face rock was the place to pray for a safe and prosperous journey by the hunters.

“Wat Sampov Pram” or “5 boats Wat” came from the five oddly-sculpted rocks nearby resembled boats. The beautiful legend of the boats will be told by our expert guide. Wat Sampov Pram was built in 1924 by King Monivong. Behind the temple is breath-taking view of the sapphire sea and emerald green jungle you will be amazed.
This grand colonial building is a historical hotel built by colonial French and opened in 1925. The hotel was almost continuous use until 1972. The hotel was a retreat from the fierce heat of the summer plains. Now, the building is under reconstruction and restored to its original state to enable guests to experience the hotel‘s past glory and splendor. The building will be the first colonial architecture in Cambodia museum.
The Old Catholic Church was built by the French in the early 1920s as part of the French township on Bokor Mountain. The church‘s interior is surprisingly well kept. Here at the cliff behind, it is known for beautiful and romantic sunset
“Damnak Sla Khmao” or “Black Palace” was King Sihanouk‘s residence. It was built by brick and black wood in 1936. The doors and windows were all gone but the villa is still in good shape. You will find amazing view of the cliff behind and also beautiful sunset at the late afternoon.
King Monivong Residence was one of the grand colonial buildings on Bokor Mountain. It was built for King Monivong to escape the summer heat from Phnom Penh. The residence was built near the cliffwhere own wonderful views of sunrise and green jungle. It was built after year 1925. It was located approximately two (2) kilometres from Thansur Sokha Hotel.
