I had very low expectations coming to Cambodia when it came to accommodations. I booked this place with very little research. Come to find out they were not even open when I booked it. They have only been open for 2 weeks.
We walked in and our mouth dropped open. The lobby is grand and beautiful. Amazing wood work and native art. The rooms are spacious and well done. Amazing bathroom! The staff has been amazing. I spoke at length with the general manager Hang tonight. He is doing a great job at instilling a 5 star mentality to the staff.
Pros: 1. Pool! It is a Vegas style pool. Huge movie screen on top and the pool area is well designed and the water is warm. 2. Pizza. No really. The pizza
here is great. One of the best that I have had. 3. Staff. They are very friendly and laugh very easily. I needed something printed. I emailed it to them and by the time I got the desk it was printed and in an envelop. I did complain about our neighbors noise level. That was immediately taken care of.
Things to think about: 1. They will help you set up tours, Tuk Tuks and cars. If you like your driver or guide you more than likely not going to have them the next day. Being new I was unsure if that was a scam even though I was told I would get the same person. I then learned they all alternate days of work. Driving one day and working the temples the next day. All three that we had were great and did not have any issues. 2. The property is not in downtown Siem Reap. There is a local street market at night for local food. But the beer pubs are a few km's away. Not a problem for us. We liked being a bit more secluded.
I highly recommend this resort and I will check out some of their other properties in the future!
Our stay at Sokha Angkor was short but sweet. We were able to check in early which was wonderful and even able to use the pool after our check out before we left for the airport. The staff are incredibly lovely, very typically Cambodian in their happy, smiley nature. The rooms were spacious and the beds were really comfy. The pool is absolutely the hotel's biggest draw card. It is breathtakingly beautiful, perfect for unwinding after a long day at the temples. Nothing to complain about here, great location, great value, will definitely be back!
Well located and excellent service.

The Sokha is located in the centre of Siem Reap but is an oasis of peace. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. We overlooked the pool which is very welcoming and imaginatively constructed. The breakfast was all you could wish for and the hotel staff in general were attentive and friendly. A good hotel as a base for exploring the Angkor complex of temples.
